Tao Te Ching

"Success is as dangerous as failure. Hope is as hollow as fear. What does it mean that success is as dangerous as failure? Whether you go up the ladder or down it your position is shaky. When you stand with your two feet on the ground, you will always keep your balance. What does it mean that hope is as hollow as fear? Hope and fear are both phantoms that arise from thinking of the self. When we don't see the self as self, what do we have to fear? See the world as yourself. Have faith in the way things are. Love the world as yourself, then you can care for all things."

Although I don't believe in failure, the emotional breakdown when someone feels as though they have failed can physically cause suffering and heaviness. On the other extreme, success can create an opposite feeling of floating and your feet will not feel steady on the ground. Extreme living in any form will be disturbing to your energies. Highs and lows will break down immune functioning and health. Keep steady in your life. Practice steadiness and regularity.
All people deserve to be treated as kings and queens. Why would you treat one person different from another? The best version of yourself is when you treat all people equally no matter who they are with kindness and in good spirits. Every person deserves your attention. Even if a person is not a peace or mean spirited they need others to show them the way. Be a good example. I love the expression of seeing the world as yourself. This is much of being in yoga or union with the earth and all its creatures.
